Note | GEM SUPER KNOBBY HOT COLOR BEAUTIES. A fabulous pair I put together to show the striking similarity in growth of a young red specimen and a great old collection beauty from the famous Florida population collected four decades ago. These are highly variable shells, and I believe that such documented material makes a specialized collection even more interesting. The large shell is of a particularly beautiful and intense tangerine color. The condition is Gem+, with even the finest details of the scales on the surface preserved to rare perfection. And of course, the small red shell was selected to match the high standard of the principal specimen. Superb.
89 mm, 27 mm.
USA, Florida, Cape Canaveral, dived in 35 m depth, live taken specimen shell.
