NoteWe have just relocated our vessel from Geraldton to Perth and during the voyage we spent some time collecting in the area west of Leeman in 160 to 200 metres of water. We were very surprised to run into a few kostini that were very different to what we had collected previously. This is a crabbed shell that has lost nacre but it's original colour can clearly be seen. At 57.6mm it is the smallest kostini we have collected at this location. It is a bulbous little shell with sparse tan spots on a white dorsum and intense gold base and margins. It is one of a kind and quite different to other kostini we have collected anywhere. It's siphons are perfect. An unexpected discovery. At first we thought it was a raywalkeri a long way from home. Dead Collected Shell collected in September 2024.
