Item | # 0003469985 |
Family | Fissurellidae |
Name | Fissurella crassa , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 62 and 56 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | Two very nice and selected specimens of Fissurella crassa. Large Fissurella species in northern Chile are actively collected by fishermen, so they often have nicks and damages on the border of the lip, and they are always found with scurria scars on the shells. This lot includes 2 specimens in good condition for the species, as they have a perfect and almost perfect border of the shell and a natural clean dorsum with a single Scurria scar in one specimen and the other specimen with only natural erosion in the dorsum, but with no damages or boreholes. A nice lot of nice specimens for a low price. |
