| Note | An outstanding specimen of a beautiful, unidentified species. Rare quality, including retention of the exceedingly delicate protoconch. This species is not V. dentifer (Watson, R.B., 1883), nor V. hirasei (Dautzenberg, P., 1915, in Hirase, Y., 1915), nor the closely related, more recently named V. yuhsiuae Houart, 2014, (if indeed, the latter proves valid). It differs from these species in having an inflated, markedly globose, and essentially smooth body whorl. Data: Off Tabalong, Dauis, Panglao, Visayas, Bohol, Philippines; upon sand/rubble substrate; 150-250 m; tangle netted; 1999. Size: 81.6 mm. Grading: Gem; w/o.
