| Note | SIPHONARIIDAE - Siphonaria palmata (Carpenter, 1857). Probably the best specimen I have ever found!! It has all the requirements to be the best in my entire career. The perfect requirements that are difficult to find in this species. Intact lip with irregular fingers with the best design and elegance, the ring that surrounds the lip is completely with an intense white color, the internal ventral part has a very dark special chocolate brown color. The dorsal part and my favorite comes accompanied by a design and pattern between fingers and radial ribs with very thin lines in the shape of a spider web with a gray color but yellowish predominates. The erosion is minimal for the species that is usually dense. This is one of the best specimens ever captured!! Hard to find specimens with top exceptional conditions. Light erosion on top as usual for the species and size, not detracting the beauty! A very interesting species that in many cases remains in the same place all its life, forming together with the erosion on the stone the exacted figure of the shell outline. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents and waves, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Top conditions for the species!! Shiny ventral side with so dark brown beautiful fresh color. The best selection for the species. GEM. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. Under Mirador Don Lupe, Punta Melaque , Melaque, , Jalisco, Mexico. April 2024. Value for the best complete specimen in the history: 29-34 euro. ATTENTION!!!
