| Note | This truly magnificent specimen is the LARGEST, FINEST, and LAST of the JES Collection. Exceptional in every respect: size; colour; pattern; maturity; and quality. The specimen also exhibits two aspects always sought by the connoisseur of this ‘classic’ rarity: 1) a particularly florid pattern, with distinct spiral banding; 2) a ground suffused with delicate pink. Rare quality for such enormous size, including retention of the delicate, pin-point pink protoconch. Hypermature, with greatly thickened, glossed, white apertural lip. A rare, ‘top of the line’ cervus for the discriminating Conidae specialist. Data: Sarangani Strait, off Tinina, Malulong, Sarangani Islands, Sarangani Province, Mindanao, Philippines; upon sand/detritus substrate; 150-250 m; tangle netted; 2014. Size: 109 mm.
