| Note | An exceptional GIANT of this endemic eastern Australian species – the most beautiful of all Ancillariidae. As the species is a personal favourite, the JES Collection acquired several outstanding giant specimens, of which the current example is one of the LAST and BEST I can offer. Exceedingly rare quality for such size, and for such a delicate, trawled shell. Ultra-dark colour. Apertural lip lightly smoothed, done as a matter of course in the 1980s. A velesiana for the connoisseur. Data: Off Caloundra, Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 80-120 m; trawled; 1986. Size: 88 mm. Grading: Gem.
