NoteAn outstanding, large example of the Omani form, exhibiting extremely well-developed marginal callosity, in atypically beautiful ivory. Evenly distributed, extremely fine maculae, forming a dorsal pattern of the highest aesthetic merit. Markedly symmterical, ovate proportions in dorsal perspective. Hypermature, with great weight to size ratio. A jewel for the Cypraeidae connoisseur. Data: Off Ra’s Kalban, Masirah Island, Ash Sharkiyah South, Sultanate of Oman; upon sand/mud/detritus substrate, under slab, amongst seagrass and sponges, at low tide; hand-foraged; 2020. Size: 41.1 mm. Grading: Fine++++. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
