Note | This exceptional specimen is the LAST and FINEST of the JES Collection. Exceedingly rare quality for the species – virtual PERFECTION. Extremely elongate, markedly recurved siphonal canal. Painstakingly cleaned; completely devoid of encrustation. Spectacular colour: brilliant cream and caramel, upon account of the ultra-clean, pure nature of the shell. A foliatum for the Muricidae connoisseur, or dedicated collector of truly exquisite seashells. Data: Off western coast of San Nicolas Island, Channel Islands, California, USA; upon reef substrate, at base of kelp forest, near reef periphery; 18-20 m; dived; 1998. Size: 60.2 mm.
