NoteF+++. A SELDOM SEEN SPONDYLUS, RARE IN COLLECTIONS. This species is definitely very hard to get. The Spondylus eastae lives in the north of Western Australia and was named by bivalve expert Lamprell in 1992 only. Localities in the literature are Schofield Schoal in Exmouth Gulf, Cape Keraudren, Point Samson. Rare, not beautiful, to complete the series in the collection. Seldom an opportunity to do so.
