F+++. A rarity among granulate Conus. Amongst red algae fields at 15 m, the shells stand out with their light yellowish periostracum in the early night. Not often seen, but when out, one can easily collect ten or more in one dive. This shell comes from much deeper and was taken together with hammatus and crocatus. It is the 4th piece that we could get out of 566 tessulatus and it is the largest of the granulate ones. Very perfect apart from a minor growth line inside the aperture. HYPOTYPE in the twin books: 1000 Shells, exceptionals from the Philippines.
