NoteAurata that are found in the northern portion of their habitat range off Coral Bay are invariably round bulbous shells. This large rotund specimen was collected from a white funnel sponge in 168 metres of water west of Coral Bay during April 2024. Conservatively graded Fine+/Fine++ due to dorsal growth irregularity. The shell is heavy and mature with perfect siphons. The shell has a small re-glazed and healed fish bite on it's dorsum indicated by the green arrow in the dorsal photograph. Bargain Priced Specimen !!!
