Note | An exceptional, very large specimen of this singular species. Extremely tare quality, including exemplary level of preservation of peripheral spines, and retention of glassy, mammillate protoconch. Very difficult to obtain now, especially at this size and quality. An exquisite seashell when seen like this. Family: Cochlespiridae. Data: Off Panglao, Bohol, Philippines; upon sand/mud substrate; 150-200 m; tangle netted; 1987. Size: 27.7 mm. Grading: Fine++++. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
