NoteSuperb and moderately sized specimen with accentuated anatomical features. Fantastic distribution of expanding walnut brown pigmentation on the body whorl flowing into lighter tones approaching the varices. The specimen shows the classic webbed and winged varices with excellent finger spine extensions. The shell shows an intact spire, body whorl and porcelain white aperture lips. The specimen is in remarkable condition for the species considering the turbulent ocean conditions in this area. Captured by Scuba diver off the Channel islands, California on boulders at 15-20 meters in 2006. The shell shows wear of the protoconch and modest wear of varix edges and some erosive pitting of the spire ridges. Grade: F++/F+++.
