| Note | An exceptional, ultra-large specimen, of rare quality and beauty. Typically with copious erosion, encrustation, and dorsal damage caused by vermetids, polychaetes, and other epibionts, the current specimen, by contrast, has a virtually unblemished dorsum. Completely natural outer edge, in exemplary state of preservation. In addition to its outstanding quality, the specimen exhibits rich and beautiful colour. The ONLY example of this species of the JES Collection, expressly chosen for its quality and beauty. Data: Off Punta Farellones, Coquimbo, El Elqui, Chile; upon rock reef substrate, amongst kelp forest, (Lessonia sp.), at base of kelp; 3-5 m; dived; 1977. Size: 107.1 mm. Grading: Gem.
