| Note | A superb, ultra-large specimen of this ‘classic’, endemic Western Australian volute. Beautiful colour: rich yellowish cream ground, with reddish chestnut axial streaks. The pattern is one of the BEST formed I have ever encountered. One restricted loss to anterior canal the only reason for a ‘Fine++’ grading. The locality is now protected as part of the Barrow Island Marine Management Area, and no fresh specimens will be available in future. Data: Off eastern coast of Barrow Island, Western Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate, upon intertidal sand flat at extreme low tide; 1994. Size: 54.8 mm. Grading: Fine+++.
