| Note | The BEST specimen of this endemic, deep-water Queensland species of the JES Collection. As the Volutidae specialist will be aware, the vast majority of specimens suffer growth or trawl damage, especially the latter to the three vulnerable areas of apex, apertural lip, and siphonal canal, all of which are, by contrast, PERFECT in the current specimen. Not freshly available since the 1980s, with the locality now lying within the Swain Reefs National Park, and with no fresh specimens being available in future. A reducta for the connoisseur.
