| Note | A large and spectacular specimen of this RARE species, rendered all the more scarce by being of a RARE COLOUR FORM: rich ochre-caramel exterior, (instead of typical dark brown), and with a reddish tint to the purple apertural interior. The ONLY specimen of this colour form of the JES Collection. Rare quality. The species was only recently rediscovered after almost two centuries since its description. Its extreme high altitude habitat adds romance to the species. The specimen was collected by Andean natives. No longer collected, and now extremely difficult to obtain. Data: Cerro de Pasco, Department of Pasco, Peru; in tropical montane cloud forest, at 3000-3500 MAMSL, upon low tree/bush, after rain; June 2023. Size: 65.5 mm. Grading: Gem.
