| Note | A superb specimen of the RARE Papua New Guinean form, illustrating the salient characteristics of the subspecies: mature small size; fine shell; lack of strong marginal callosity; paucity of dorsal maculations; markedly produced terminals; and other factors. Subtle colour. Delicate dorsal stippling. Well-delineated mantle line. Now extremely difficult to obtain, coming only from choice old collections. Data: Off Madang, Madang, Papua New Guinea; upon sand/rubble substrate in surge channel; 4-6 m; dived; 1986. Size: 31.1 mm. Grading: Fine+++. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
