| Note | A superb, large specimen of the exquisite HERON ISLAND form, exhibiting the characteristic broad, solid shell, and beautiful colour and pattern of the form. Hypermature, with great weight to size ratio. Rare quality, with all peripheral spines intact. The locality is now protected under the Capricornia Cays National Park, with no fresh specimens being available since 1975. Data: Off Heron Island, Capricorn and Bunker Group, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia; upon fine coral sand substrate; 10-20 m; dredged; 1972. Size: 67.2 mm. Grading: Gem.
