| Note | Cypraea tigris pardalis were collected upon the Great Barrier Reef during the 1970s and earlier, as well as a little farther North and South, but this is the ONLY specimen I have ever encountered from this very rare, extreme far-northern Queensland locality, and perhaps the only specimen ever offered on the world market. Possession Island is a tiny island in the Torres Strait, at which virtually no collecting has ever been undertaken. The locality has been protected as the Possession Island National Park since 1977, and no specimens have been collected since, nor will ever be collected in the future. ULTRA-LARGE SIZE. Rare quality. Exquisite colour: ivory ground, decorated with large chocolate maculae, and with a golden-honey mantle line. Spectacular white margins and ventrum. Impeccably curated, appearing as fresh as if collected this year, with thick resplendent gloss. Definitely for the Cypraeidae, or tigris specialist interested in rare variants.
