ELLOBIIDAE - Melampus olivaceus (Carpenter, P.P., 1856). FABTASTIC RARITY VIRTUALLY ABSENT!! This species is know from South California, USA - Mazatlan, Mexico. Very probably the most south found specimen ever, from Jalisco. They are between 8 - 16 mm, this with 10.9mm is a large size specimen with superb Gray-olive light green with multiple axial growth stripes , intact perfect lip and apex. Inside the elegant aperture is coming with serrated multiple denticles , ventral side is coming with some usual scars not really harming this beauty and seldom seen offered species. F+++-F++. Found attached at extremely low tide inside the shadow of large rocks. Isla Toriz, Melaque, Jalisco, Mexico. August 2025. MEXICO PACIFIC.
