| Note | An OUTSTANDING large specimen of the beautiful Panamanian form, from the ‘old days’ of Panamic availability. Highly frondose. Exemplary state of preservation – virtual perfection. Markedly broad, ovate form, with expansive whorls. Rich, exquisite apertural colour: vivid pink, and dark chocolate. The specimen was formerly in the renowned Gloria Scarboro collection of the US, and the original 1980s Scarboro label accompanies the specimen. Data: Isla de Coiba, Veraguas, Panama; upon reef substrate, amongst sand/rubble; 18-22 m; dived; 1983. Size: 91.7 mm. Grading: Gem; w/o. Provenance: 1) Gloria Scarboro, Indian Harbour Beach; 2) JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
