Fissurella latimarginata - Very Nice, Selected , G. B. Sowerby I, 1835
Size
81.7 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
One very nice live-taken specimen of Fissurella latimarginata, a nice species of Fissurellidae with a burgundy dorsum, sometimes with radial patterns. This species lives on or under rocks, and they have sharp borders with either wide or narrow margins. This specimen was carefully cleaned and treated with mineral oil to highlight the very nice dark color of the dorsum, and it is in very good condition for the species, with just a chip and tiny nicks in the border, but with a nice dorsum as can be seen in the images. I have received several of these cleaned specimens, which I am here offering for cheap due to minor flaws.
