NoteJeaniana collected off the west side of Bernier Island are typically large with dark dorsums, high cream margins with intense black spots and ink black bases. They are highly prized and locally known as "Big Black Tops". This specimen was collected in May 2024 from a geodia sponge in 74 metres of water west of Bernier Island off Shark Bay. Started sat 200 euro to allow the posting of four photos. This shell has dark dorsum, divided with an obvious central mantle line, spectacular high cream margins with intense black lateral spots and an unusual caramel coloured base. This species live in a high energy environment being in relatively shallow water with very heavy winter swells and very few gems are collected. With only one tiny silt inclusion and some fine nacre windowing and scratches it's conservatively graded Fine++
