NoteGlassy nacre characterize this standout endemic Hawaiian classic. The specimen shows excellent form, solid size/weight ratio, color, banding, thick rounded margins and exquisite nacre gloss (20.5 grams). The shell displays four perfect transverse bands bands on a pristine dorsum making this shell a true classic. An outstanding specimen that would highlight any cowrie collection. Taken by Scuba diver off Sunset Beach, North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii on night dive at 12-15 meters sitting in a crevice near sponges under a reef ledge. The specimen has no visual or palpable defects, but one micro inclusions on the columellar base. Grade: GEM minus.
