An outstanding ultra-large specimen of the seldom offered QUEENSLAND form – the most beautiful incarnation of the species. Quite distinct from other forms. A product of the legendary 1980s Queensland trawls, and not freshly availble since. Now obtainable only from choice old collections. Rare size for this form. Beautiful subtle colours: orange, apricot, and lemon, with chocolate and caramel accents; glossy pale chestnut to ventrum. Fine-walled, delicate, translucent shell. Retention of pin-point protoconch. Data: Lodestone Reef, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 60-80 m; trawled; 1986. Size: 68.5 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
