NoteAn OUTSTANDING large specimen of the endemic South Australian angasi form – the most beautiful incarnation of the species. Exquisite subtle colour, in conjunction with a spectacular pattern, formed with rare regularity and clarity. Hypermature: solid and heavy; greatly thickened and glossed apertural lip. Not freshly collected for many years, and now obtainable only from choice old collections. A standout angasi for the Volutidae connoisseur. Data: Coffin Bay, Port Lincoln, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon coarse sand/gravel substrate, amongst ribbon weed, at night; 24 m; dived; 1995. Size: 86.7 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
