One of my favorite Cypraea specimens, featuring attractive gray, brown, and black spotting. The aperture displays well-defined brown and black teeth, providing strong visual contrast. The shell shows two perforations caused by mechanical damage, clearly visible in the accompanying images.
Collected by shrimp trawlers using bottom nets in the waters off the La Guajira Peninsula in 2000. Since the beginning of the new millennium, restrictions on bottom trawling practices have been implemented to protect marine fauna, rendering Cypraea specimens from this provenance available today almost exclusively from older collections.
This lot represents an excellent opportunity for collectors and researchers seeking uncommon historical material, offered at a competitive starting price. A highly attractive opportunity.
