NoteAn OUTSTANDING ultra-large specimen of this HAWAI’IAN ENDEMIC subspecies. Characteristic dark colour at umbilicus, reduced dorsal pustules, and markedly elongate, elegant form. Hypermature: extremely solid for the subspecies. Ultra-thick, resplendent gloss. An exquisite jewel for the Cypraeidae specialist seeking a ‘BEST of the best’ example of this Hawai'ian subspecies. Data: Lahaina, Maui, Hawai’ian Islands; upon reef substrate, under coral slab; 12 m; dived; 1997. Size: 19.7 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
