NoteInteresting specimen of Drymaeus solidus, distinguished by a harmonious array of brown and ash-grey bands elegantly arranged over a glossy shell surface. The shell exhibits a fully developed, thickened peristome—an unequivocal indication of full adult maturity—enhancing its refined morphology. The aperture reveals a striking violet interior, providing a vivid chromatic contrast. The outer lip is broken due to handling damage. Collected from the leaf litter of a pristine Andean cloud forest at 2,100 meters above sea level in October 2023, this high-elevation provenance further enhances its exclusivity. Specimens from such altitudes are seldom encountered on the international market. A fine opportunity to acquire a visually captivating and ecologically authentic specimen of D. solidus, an appealing centerpiece sure to draw attention in any serious collection of Neotropical terrestrial gastropods.
