GEM. Endemic species to New Zealand. Perfectly cleaned giant size perfect specimen. Very nice sculpture and extremely beautiful distinct outline of all the plates. Strong thick test with distinct tubercles. Rare giant size and gorgeous female specimen with enlarged gonopores. Dredged by commerical oyster boats in 20-30m deep on coarse sandy bottom between South Island and Steward Island, May 2003. Now rare to find this huge and perfect specimen of this endemic species.
