Note
Striking, glossy and super nacred example of a highly collectable anatomically superior guttata subspecies. Anatomically ovate form with prominent teeth and exaggerated ribbing (striping) complementing the base and lateral walls and light beige/ camel/nude margins. Moderately heavy for its size (12.9 grams), excellent shell with a wide dispersion and notable array of diffuse smaller dorsal white spots symmetrically distributed throughout the dorsum. The ascending dark stripes provide a beautiful anatomical contrast. The rich nacre on this particular specimen is remarkable. Harvested by Thai trawlers at 80-100 meters off Racha Island, Phuket, Thailand on rock/sponge/muddy substrate in 2/2012. Grade: GEM minus.
