NoteMagnificent globose specimen, distinguished by an exceptionally aperture in proportion to its body whorl. The shell lacks periostracum and exhibits a markedly expanded aperture (super-aperture), complemented by a thick, well-developed peristome of elegant cream coloration. The surface displays a harmonious combination of violet and brown tones, here further enhanced by an unusual yellowish-cream hue, adding even greater character to this already striking morphology. Collected by local gatherers in March 2026 from leaf litter in a humid Andean forest in the Santander Department, at an altitude of 1,550 meters above sea level. Ongoing deforestation and logging in the Colombian Andes have made specimens of this kind increasingly difficult to obtain, significantly enhancing both their rarity and desirability. A superb collector’s piece, representing a unique opportunity to acquire a classic species from a region of extraordinary biodiversity under mounting environmental pressure. A truly exceptional specimen, highly recommended for discerning collectors and serious researchers alike.
