LOTTIIDAE- Lottia stanfordiana (S. S. Berry, 1957). SPECIAL LARGE TENTS PATTERN WOOOOW!! Rare giant size for the species. Incomparable delightful beauty with the biggest white well decorated tents all around between the green and brown background color. The brown coloration is abundant near lip most and the rest of the dorsal presents a dominant dark green. Exceptional white large tents pattern. The ventral side exhibits a striking gloss bluish-green turquoise fresh colors with radiant bluish-white and yellowish spotted pattern between, really seldom seen, the middle spot has a deep dark green-blue with exquisite effect. A really beauty of nature. Gem-F+++, some insignificant light erosion on top almost lost between not really harming the beauty. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds attached to the smooth stones, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. North Playa La Calechosa, Bahia de Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. March 2026.
