NoteLOTTIIDAE- Lottia stanfordiana (S. S. Berry, 1957). UNIQUE CRAZY RAIN SPECIAL WHITE PATTERN WOOOOW!! Rare giant size for the species with 31.1mm This dark pattern and special coloring is unique and uncommon by most standards. The white tiny "Rain" pattern effect is just a dream for any lovers of aesthetics , micro tripped-tents going from apex with very small sizes changing to large dispersing to the lip sides. The classic brown ring coloration around the lip is dramatically different from the dark green background which is the dominant coloration. Irresistible striking unique effect. The ventral side exhibits a brilliant gloss blue-greenish turquoise fresh colors combined with the middle spot with light brownish color. A really beauty of nature. Gem-F+++, some insignificant light scar on top almost lost between pattern not really harming the beauty. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds attached to the smooth stones, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. North Playa La Calechosa, Bahia de Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. March 2026.
