LOTTIIDAE - Lottia mitella (Menke, 1847). FABULOUS BEAUTY WITH LARGE SIZE AND STRIPED PATTERN WOOOW!! Hard to get species with such a nice conditions and striped elegant pattern, for all with intact lip and amazing ventral side. Note that this species at this larges sizes are coming always with erosion on top, this is really usual. F++-F+++ Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds attached to the smooth stones, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. North Playa La Calechosa, Bahia de Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. March 2026. Value for this Outstanding elegant pattern and large size: 12-15 euro. Good luck and Happy shelling!!! MEXICO PACIFIC
