SPECIAL TORTILLA FLAT FORM WOOOOOW!! SIPHONARIIDAE - Siphonaria maura palmata (Carpenter, 1857). Impressive unusual larges size with the most extended and flattened shape rib-fingers with the best intact conditions you can get. Black-brown background dorsal lip side with a white ribs-pattern effect combined with flat "TORTILLA" Shape. Look at this Black marvelous glossy masterpiece ventral side with white lip fingers. So fresh gloss ventral black dark-brownish colors and yellowish middle spot. A very interesting species that in many cases remains in the same place all its life, forming together with the erosion on the stone the exacted figure of the shell outline. Exceptional conditions for the species the best!! Gem-F++++. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. North from La Calechosa, Bahia de Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico.
