Leporicypraea mappa - From Kiengiang , (Linnaeus, 1758)
Size
74.5 mm
Locality
province Kiengiang, Vietnam
Note
This is the Leporicypraea mappa snail species found from divers at water depths of 30-50m, in the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Snail cheese in this sea is different from the sea where it is usually exploited, the shell shape is rounder, smaller, the shell is thicker and has a darker color, they are very rarely found in the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Luckily, I bought it from shell collectors. Shell collectors should not ignore it because they are quite rare to find in this sea.
