Specimen ROV collected live from 238 metres of water south, south east of Augusta in January 2026. A solid shell with super thick gemmy lip, it has an obvious crab chomp injury that has regrown. Graded Fine due to a strong growth interruption due to champagne crab attacks which occurred when it was a juvenile. These crabs actively predicate volutes living in this depth and molluscs and hermit crabs are a significant part of their diet. Few specimens escape their attention.
