NoteA beautiful shell distinguished by its exceptionally large, deep violet aperture and an elegant pattern of finely defined bands. The lower portion of the lip shows some natural damage, a feature that does not diminish its appeal but rather bears witness to its survival in its native habitat. It was collected among the leaf litter of a humid forest at an elevation of 1,650 meters above sea level, in the southern region of the Department of Santander, Colombia, in July 2024. Specimens from this increasingly threatened Andean habitat are becoming progressively more difficult to obtain, making this shell an attractive opportunity for the discerning malacological collector.
