NoteA beautiful shell distinguished by its exceptionally large violet aperture and an elegant pattern of finely defined bands. The upper portion of the outer lip shows some natural damage, a characteristic that does not detract from its overall appeal, but rather provides evidence of the specimen’s survival in its natural habitat. It was collected among the leaf litter of a humid forest at an altitude of 1,650 meters above sea level, in the southern region of the Department of Santander, Colombia, in July 2024. Specimens from this increasingly threatened Andean habitat are becoming progressively more difficult to obtain, making this shell an attractive opportunity for the discerning malacological collector.
