NoteThis fresh dead specimen was collected by a diver from a sea grass bed in 4 metres of water at Stansbury in South Australia. A solid and dark shell with tan colour poking through the dorsum bordered with brown sides and perfect siphons. Thersites justify a substantial change in pricing as populations have been decimated by climate change and over collecting. Populations are so low I am unaware of any diver targeting them. This specimen is from an old collection. The South Australian Government has protected them by placing a daily bag limit on them of one specimen a day if you are lucky enough to find one. Graded Fine+/Fine++ due to some very minor nacre damage. South Australian Thersites !!!
