NoteSplendid shell with distinctively humped dorsum and the signature partially exposed spire characteristic of this rare species. The almond cream dorsum is highlighted with sparse dark chocolate brown spotting focused toward the lateral walls and anterior ramp, leaving the high hump with only faint spots. This excellent specimen is blessed with coral peach margins with sparse spotting and an attarctive light orange/ base sealed in a crystalline nacre. Cream colored margins form a distiinct ridge bordering the concave pastel peach base. A superb example of a hard to get Zoila icon that comes from a remote area rarely visited or explored recently and in the probable future by ROV or Taiwanese trawlers. The specimen was collected by ROV at 70-90 meters while nestled among sponges northwest of the Montebello Islands, Dampier, northwest Western Australia in 10/2014. EX: Ray Walker. The shell is impeccable. Grade: GEM.
