NoteA fantastic big wide gemmy specimen from the deep depths of Albany . Taken back when there were a few shell divers in the area. Not so today , not much diving happens there these days for many reasons, one being that we had two great white attacks this week alone in Western Auatralia one being fatal the other the surfer losing half his leg . So luckily this shell was in an old collection . It’s 52mm wide , lovely chocolate brown dorsum , solid mature shell , big wide really toothy aperture. Super gloss / nacre , perfect terminal . No chips lines or flaws. Pretty much gem but again I’ll call gem minus for the magnifiers.
