NoteThree ASC-figured Zoila were sold on the previous auction. This is the last one remaining in my collection and in my opinion the best. Figured on p. 84, fig. a at the top left of page 100. In addition its importance as a figured specimen it also has outstanding overall aesthetics with the subtle embyronic pattern overlaid with lentiginosa spotting, coffee-coloured base, stunning margins, mature flanging and dark smudging on the tips. Shell was found in Wylie Bay at 11m in 1997 by Peter Clarkson, with his original tag. An area rather hazardous to dive these days due to a recent history of shark attacks. Specimen is basically perfect, to be really fussy there is a short growth disruption tucked into the anterior labral corner. Canals are perfect, a bit of dried animal adheres the walls of the anterior canal. More photos if needed. A specimen I was very pleased to get and ambivalent about parting with. In my collection since April 2019.
