NoteLarge, inflated, elongated and hyper-calloused member of this striking Hawaiian species. Brilliant color, thick nacre and superb eye-popping reticulated pattern. Heavy shell, with thick round calloused margins with tubercles on the anterior margins with beautiful dark spotting extending over the margins and peripheral base. A solid shell with a moderate weight/size ratio (59.7 grams ). The maculifera shows perfect extremities and dorsum. Scuba diver captured off Kaena Point, Oahu, Hawaii on a night dive hiding under a ledge at 8-10 meters in 2018. There is evident a self-repaired glazed fish bite mark (white area) on the anterior labral margin. Grade: F++/F+++.
