A mythical shell amongst Australian collectors, and one of the world’s most difficult to obtain Muricidae species and forms. Of the few known specimens, most are white. EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY and BEAUTY. Meticulously curated across the decades, we are able to witness the glory of the as-living colour of this form – an exquisite admixture of delicate cream, lemon, and apricot, with rich caramel accents to the siphonal canals. A product of the legendary 1980s Queensland trawls – never collected since – and now obtainable only from choice old collections. A UNIQUE opportunity for a highly advanced Muricidae specialist to acquire a ‘top of the line’ specimen of a virtually unobtainable species and form. An exquisite, diminutive JEWEL, and one of the great treasures of the JES Collection, now to be passed to another connoisseur of the world’s rarest and most exquisite seashells. Data: Off Cape Bowling Green, North Queensland region, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 120-160 m; trawled; 1986. Size: 30.5 mm. Grading: Fine+++; w/o.
