Muracypraea mus donmoorei Subadult. F++/+
47,24 mm     La Guajira Colombia.     30,00 €
Item# 0004315081
FamilyCypraeidae
NameMuracypraea mus donmoorei - Subadult. F++/+ , (Petuch, 1979)
Size47,24 mm
LocalityLa Guajira Colombia.
NoteA beautiful specimen of Mus donmoorei, displaying an attractive pattern of dark and light brown maculations against a cream-colored background, enhanced by a subtle zigzag banding pattern extending across much of its dorsal surface. This distinctive combination of markings gives the shell a unique and truly individual character, making it a particularly appealing addition to any malacological collection. The specimen exhibits a small chip at the base of the anterior siphonal canal, a minor imperfection that does not detract from its overall beauty or visual appeal. Collected in the year 2000 by shrimp trawlers operating in the waters off the La Guajira Peninsula, Colombia, this specimen predates the introduction of bottom-trawling restrictions in the early 2000s, which were implemented to protect vulnerable marine species. An attractive and historically interesting specimen, offering collectors an excellent opportunity to acquire a distinctive example of Mus donmoorei with documented provenance from Colombian waters.
